Lockbox

When you list your home with a REALTOR® make sure that the lockbox they put on your property is secure.  The one you see above is one of the standard REALTOR® lockboxes which requires an agent to use a real estate key before it will open.  The keys themselves are also secure since they have to be put in a cradle every night to get a new authorization code.

If you ever had a problem and needed to know who was in the house the lockbox can be read and it will identify all of the agents keys that opened the box as well as the date and time.

At times some agents try and get away with putting an inexpensive combination lockbox on the listing.  Don't let them.  Only authorized real estate lockboxes should be used to protect your home.  After all, it is still your home until it's sold.
